#WhyIgetoutofbed: Jamie Soule

Who are you and what do you do?

I work in Fashion Retail as a full time job. Outside of that I take photos… I wander around with a camera and take snaps of the things I see that interest me. Inspiration is everywhere if you look hard enough.

How are you?

I’m good… I’m sat in my kitchen marveling at the weird weather outside… sunny, snowy, sunny, snowy! Mother nature has the funnies of late…

Tell us about your work

The photo’s featured here are my first experimental tiltshift shots… I’m no professional photographer but these shots took on a totally different feel once they had been tweaked.

Do you express yourself through creativity?

Sure, it keeps me sane. Whether it’s through photography or playing an instrument or dancing around the living room, don’t keep it bottled up inside, let it out and have fun with it!

What was the last thing you created?

I created a mess in the kitchen early… best get that cleaned up before you-know-who gets home!

What has inspired you as of late?

I’ve been to a few gigs lately and got some good shots of the performers… then came home and picked up my guitar and made a noise.

What are you reading/watching/listening to at the moment?

Still working my way through Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels… I’m on “You Only Live Twice” at the minute. Johnny Marr’s new album is a good one to listen to… “I Want The Heartbeat” is one of my favourite tracks from it. I don’t really watch TV, it melts your brain.

Why do you get out of bed in the morning?

Primarily to work… I’d be a right lazy sod otherwise! People are a constant source of fascination for me and I like to find the good in everyone as that makes me feel better about me.
